Birch wood
Our FSC certified birch wood products are grown, sawn, planed, dried and processed by skilled craftsmen locally in Lithuania. All our birch products are made of solid wood of the best quality. There are small colour variations, veins and sometimes small twig marks, which make this a pure natural product with a real wood feel. All birch products are surface treated and polished with “Natur Hardwax Oil”. Based on natural vegetable oils and wax. Naturally, the hardwax oil eventually dries into the wood and may need to be retreated after a few years. Then use “white pigmented maintenance wax” and follow the instructions on the package.
Oak wood
Our FSC certified oak wood products are grown in Germany, Poland, Austria and Ukraine and processed by skilled craftsmen in Lithuania. All our oak products are made of solid wood of the best quality. There are slight color variations, veins and sometimes small twig marks that make this a pure natural product with a real wood feel. All oak products are surface treated with “Tobacco Oil Stains” and polished with “Klarvax”, so called smoke oiled oak, which gives the oak its beautiful dark color. The oil is based on natural vegetable oils and pigments. Naturally, the hardwax oil eventually dries into the wood and may need to be retreated after a few years. Then use “undyed maintenance wax” and follow the instructions on the package.
Cork
For your information, we would like to inform you that the cork we use as protection is a pure natural product. It does not stain and is very resistant to moisture. When fasteners with cork have been sitting for a long time, there may be remnants of cork left, which are easily removed with a damp sponge. Cork producers in southern Europe are very keen to find new uses for cork so that they can maintain cork tree crops that are important for the environment and carbon capture. Unfortunately, the wine industry has started to use more plastic cork and therefore the production of cork has decreased.
