Environment & Recycling
The wood for this piece of furniture is FSC certified, which means that it comes from sustainable forestry with respect to nature, the environment and regrowth.
Wood in this piece of furniture is treated with hardwax oil which is based on natural vegetable oils and wax.
The metal for the furniture is surface treated in approved and sustainable controlled processes with purification for minimal emissions into air, water or soil.
This product is manufactured to the highest quality and with a very long service life, which is the best from an economic, social and climate sustainability perspective.
In this product and its packaging, we have deliberately avoided plastic as far as possible. Plastic is only included as EPS (Styrofoam) filler pieces in some corrugated cardboard box and a screw plug for mounting is used because we have not found any alternative (yet). EPS must be submitted for EPS recycling and can then be fully recycled into new EPS products. In terms of volume and weight, EPS is an approved product from an environmental point of view. Today recycled EPS is not manufactured in the thicknesses we use but as soon as it comes on the market we will start using it.
Corrugated cardboard in packaging is made from 80% recycled corrugated board and with 100% FSC certified raw materials and is left in corrugated cardboard collection. 98% of Sweden's corrugated cardboard is recycled and is therefore an approved packaging from an environmental point of view. On average, corrugated cardboard is used 7 times in our packaging.
Keep in mind that reuse of the product is the best from an sustainable point of view, so feel free to use the product for another purpose with new accessories or sell it on the secondary market.
This product is 100% recyclable and must be left in wood and metal collection.
